Buxar: Buxar superintendent of police (SP) Shubham Arya attached Town police station SHO Sanjay Kumar Sinha to police line on Saturday on the charge of the dereliction of duty and transferred several other officers after conducting surprise inspections in different police stations.
The action against the Town SHO has been taken in a case related to sub-inspector (SI) Juhi Kumari, who was accused of taking money during vehicle checking in September. Sinha had submitted an investigation report in the matter to Shahabad range DIG Naveen Chandra Jha, before lodging an FIR against Juhi. After SI Juhi appealed against the investigation report, Shahabad range DIG Jha had sought clarification from the Town SHO.
The SP said the SHO's clarification and role was found unsatisfactory. "So, I have attached him to police line and also ordered a departmental inquiry against him," the SP said.
Five SIs, including Juhi, have been transferred to different police stations. Juhi has been posted at women health desk in Brahmpur, while one Chunmun Kumari has been given the same charge in Simari police station.
Meanwhile, a total of 43 people were arrested, and three country-made pistols and one cartridge were seized during raids in different police station areas of the district on Saturday evening.
Two bikes, a car and two cellphones were also seized from their possession.
The SP said 9 people have been sent to jail on charges of drinking alcohol, while three were arrested with 1.8 litres of Indian-made Foreign Liquor.
The SP added that his first priority is the safety of schoolgirls.
