PRAYAGRAJ: After intercepting two drones flying over mela campus and subsequently serving them notices, mela police on Sunday made it clear that strict action will be taken against violators.
Mela police has deployed a robust anti-drone system in the mela campus and intercepted two drones in the past 48 hours flying over the mela campus without permission.
SSP (Kumbh Mela) Rajesh Dwivedi said that special measures are underway to ensure the safety and security of millions of pilgrims and devotees arriving at the mela campus during Maha Kumbh.
He added, "An anti-drone system has been activated in the Maha Kumbh mela area. A high-tech anti-drone system successfully shot down and deactivated two drones flying without permission. Notices have been issued to the operators," he added.
Dwivedi emphasized that drones will not be allowed to fly in the Kumbh mela area without prior approval. Permission must be obtained from the police authorities concerned in advance for any drone operations. To manage the high-tech anti-drone system, experienced experts have been brought in.
These experts stationed at a central location, are continuously monitoring all drones flying in the vicinity. They have the capability to disable any suspicious drone mid-flight if necessary.
