Bhilwara: In a joint operation on Friday, Bhilwara police and a DST team arrested five individuals before they could execute a murder plan. Police seized an unlicensed country-made pistol with a magazine, six live cartridges, and chilli powder.
Bhilwara SP Dharmendra Singh said, to effectively tackle illegal arms and criminal activities in the district, a team was formed under the supervision of additional SP Roshan Patel and Gangapur deputy SPRavindra Pratap Singh, led by Gangapur SHO Fulchand.
In Saragaon area, Bhairu Lal Jat, whose elder son was married to Sohanlal Jat's daughter from Baghera village, had a conflict due to a previous altercation at a social event. Bhairulal planned to teach Sohanlal a lesson for tarnishing his social reputation. He contacted Harisingh from Mangrop, previously caught with illegal arms, through his relative Prakash. Bhairulal and Prakash agreed to pay Harisingh and his associates Rs 15,000 each for assaulting Sohanlal or Rs 3 lakh each for murder, covering bail and legal expenses.
Harisingh planned the attack between Dec 16 and 20. On Friday, Bhilwara DST anti-gangster team, while conducting crime prevention activities, informed Gangapur SHO Fulchand about the plot against block Congress president Sohanlal Jat. Acting swiftly, the team arrested the accused at Dhagdas Crossroad while they were conspiring for robbery, dacoity, and murder. The accused were arrested.
