Nagpur: The crime branch seized around 22,000 litres of inflammable liquid, likely to be bio-petrol, from a godown on Kawta Road at Khairi on Thursday. Sources stated the illegal stock of inflammable liquid, worth around Rs18 lakh, was used as biofuel in vehicles.
The crime branch team, under senior Inspector Shubhangi Deshmukh, took two persons into custody, identified as Simran Singh Johar and Hitendra Singh Rathod. The racket provided the fuel to transporters clandestinely.
An offence was registered at the Old Kamptee police station. Crime branch sources stated a sample of the seized liquid would be sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory for testing.
