Jaipur: Former national champion Rani Smita Jain of Jaipur bagged a triple crown in the Raghu Sinha ITF 200 Tennis tournament being played at the Jaipur Club here on Saturday.
The fifth and penultimate day of the tourney, organised by Raghu Sinha Mala Mathur Charity Trust under the aegis of the International Tennis Federation (ITF), was dominated by Smita Rani, who swept the titles in the 30 plus age group.
In the all-Jaipur women's singles final, Rani defeated Kanika Choudhary 6-1, 6-3. Rani, along with Vibha Choudhary, blanked Kanika Chaudhary and Deepmala Yadav 6-0, 6-0 in the women's doubles.
In the mixed doubles, city duo Rani and Riyaz Ahmed trounced their Delhi rivals Arun Kataria and Neha Manisha 6-1, 6-3 to complete a grand triple crown in the 30 plus group.
Dileep Shivpuri won the title in the final of men's singles 70 plus category singles, while Rajendra Goyal finished as the runner-up.
In the semi-finals of men's 65 plus singles, Ajeet Bhardwaj dismissed Rakesh Kohli, while Yogesh Shah got the better of Suresh Murthati in a tough fight to enter the final. Narendra Janweja will clash with Anan Tognatta in the 75 plus men's singles.
Manoj Kumar Kemmu and Anil Nigam will lock horns with Dipankar Chakravarti and Pawan Jain in the men's 60 plus doubles final.
In the 60 plus men's singles quarterfinals, top seed Pawan Jain outclassed Om Prakash Chaudhary, Inderpal Singh accounted for U Rao Lingam, Sudesh Singh beat SN Vashishttha, while Anil Nigam prevailed over Dipankar Chakraborty.
On the last day of the tournament on Sunday, the remaining finals will be played. All the winners and runners-up will be honoured with cash prizes and trophies in the closing ceremony at 2 pm.
