Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has announced that the Document Verification (DV) and Physical Standard Test (PST) for shortlisted candidates in the UP Police Constable Recruitment Examination 2023 will commence on Dec 26, 2024. Eligible candidates can download their admit cards from official UPPRPB website https://uppbpb.gov.in from Dec 16, 2024.
The written exam, conducted on August 23, 24, 25, 30, and 31, 2024, resulted in 1,74,316 candidates being shortlisted for the DV/PST phase—about 2.5 times the number of available positions. The exam was conducted under strict supervision, with measures put in place by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to ensure transparency and fairness. Over 48 lakh candidates applied for 60,244 constable posts across various UP Police wings.
The results were declared on Nov 21, 2024, setting the cutoff marks for each category. For the General category, the male cutoff is 214 and the female cutoff is 203; for the EWS category, the male cutoff is 187 and the female cutoff is 180; for OBC, the male cutoff is 198 and the female cutoff is 189; for SC, the male cutoff is 178 and the female cutoff is 169; and for ST, the male cutoff is 146 and the female cutoff is 136.
Rajeev Krishna, chairman of UPPRPB, confirmed that candidates meeting these cutoff marks are now eligible for the DV and PST stages. The official list of eligible candidates has been uploaded on the Board's website, where they can check their results using their registration or exam roll number. Candidates who successfully clear the DV/PST will move on to the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), scheduled for the third week of Jan 2025.
The recruitment process follows a thorough and transparent approach. After the initial exam, the UPPRPB published question papers and answer keys between Sept 11 and 19, inviting objections from candidates. The objections were reviewed, and necessary adjustments were made. The OMR answer sheets were scanned under tight security, with CCTV cameras and live monitoring deployed throughout the process.
