Ludhiana: The cyber crime police station of Ludhiana rural police filed a case against a cyber con for withdrawing Rs 98,145 from a man's account after he shared digits of his mobile number and pictures of his ATM card with the accused. The complainant, Manjit Singh of Jandi village, told the police that on Oct 14, a music streaming app deducted Rs 399 from his bank account without informing him. He added that when he called the bank helpline, he was told to talk to officials of the music streaming app.
The complainant said that when he called the app helpline number, he was told that their employee would call him. He said that after some time, he got a call and after talking to the person on the phone, he called him on WhatsApp and asked him to go to the phone app and give him the first five letters of his mobile number.tnn
