Authorities identify Newburgh man killed in head-on collision
The Warrick County Sheriff's office has identified the person killed in a head-on collision Thursday as a 68-year-old Newburgh man.
Kevin Aker was killed while driving east on Indiana 68 near Knob Hill Road in Lynnville just after 5 p.m. Thursday. According to a news release from Sheriff Mike Wilder, a second driver heading west crossed the center line and hit Acker's vehicle.
Aker was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Wilder, the driver told authorities he was "fatigued and had possibly fallen asleep," causing him to drift over the center lane.
The release doesn't identify the driver, nor does it say they were placed under arrest. The investigation is ongoing.
