Ranchi: The Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ) administration has suspended two more students from academics and the hostels for attempting to rape a female student near the campus in Cheri Manatu village under Kanke police station limits on December 4.
The students Piyush and Ranjit studying in department of far-east languages have been suspended with immediate effect on Wednesday. With it, the university has suspended three students in this connection. One student named Shivam was suspended on November 6. CUJ's proctor Mayank Ranjan took the decision on basis of report submitted by enquiry committee, which was formed to look into the incident.
Ranjan on Friday said: "The committee is trying to find out the fourth accused in the case. Future course of action would be taken on further findings of the committee."
It may be stated here that the girl had alleged that four persons tried to rape her when she was returning to her private hostel after classes. The Kanke police has also registered a case in this connection. Police stated that the matter is being investigated adding Shivam is presently absconding in the case.
