Prayagraj: The number of posts has been increased in the Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) Exam 2024, one of the most prominent recruitments of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). In the notification issued on Apr 8, the number of vacancies was 3,712, while in the revised information issued on Thursday, the number of posts increased to 3,954. Thus, 242 posts have been increased in various ministries, offices, and departments of the Central Govt.
A total of 34,55,669 candidates have applied for CHSL 2024. The exam of Tier-2 was held on Nov 18, and the final result is expected to be announced later this month. For this recruitment, recruitment is done for the posts of Lower Division Clerk (LDC) / Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Postal Assistant / Sorting Assistant, and Data Entry Operator in various ministries, offices, and departments of the Central Govt.
Out of 3,954 posts, the maximum number of posts of LDC/JSA is 447 in the Ministry of Defence (Border Roads Organisation). These include 207 posts for unreserved category, 58 for SC, 37 for ST, 95 for OBC, and 50 for EWS. In the Ministry of Defence itself, there are 272 posts of LDC/JSA in the Canteen Stores Department (CSD) and 238 posts of LDC/JSA in the Controller General of Defence Accounts, 301 posts of Junior Passport Assistant in the Central Passport Organisation under the Ministry of External Affairs, 299 posts of LDC/JSA in the Intelligence Bureau in the Home Ministry, while 249 posts of LDC/JSA are in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
Meanwhile, the ongoing interview for the recruitment process of Ayush doctors under the National Health Mission programme ended on Thursday. A total of 600 candidates applied for 19 vacant posts, out of which 499 people appeared for the interview.
