Chhapra: Saran DM Amar Sameer convened a meeting on Friday to review the healthcare facilities in the district. Primary health centre (PHC) incharges with unsatisfactory performance were asked to improve their work. The meeting was attended by medical officers from Nagra, Chhapra Sadar, Revilganj, Lahladpur, Dighwara and Mashrakh blocks, along with block health managers and block community mobilisers.
The DM asked the officials concerned to ensure that medical facilities are proportionate to the population of their respective areas. "Identify villages and panchayats where the nearest primary health centres are far away," he said, adding that steps would be taken to establish additional health centres in such locations.
He also asked PHC incharges to verify whether doctors are prescribing generic medicines and demanded explanations if they are not.
