Kanpur: Police arrested the school manager and two teachers following a complaint filed by the father of an intermediate student alleging her harassment by them at her school.
The enquiry established that while a teacher had harassed the girl, the manager and another teacher tried to conceal the incident.
The incident pertains to an inter college in Dibbapura village under Tathia police station.
On Wednesday, school teacher summoned the girl to a room where he harassed her. When she reported the matter to manager, she faced death threats that if she disclosed the incident to her family. After returning home, the girl revealed the ordeal to her family.
The student's father lodged a formal complaint against regarding the harassment of his underage daughter. Police detained all three persons for interrogation. Women police officers recorded the student's statement, which confirmed teacher's role in the harassment, while the manager and another teacher attempted to suppress the incident through intimidation. Station officer Arun Kumar Chaudhary confirmed the registration of a case against all three accused for harassment and intimidation.
SP Amit Kumar Anand said that investigations substantiated the harassment by one teacher and the subsequent cover-up attempt by the manager and another teacher. He said that based on the complaint, a case was registered, and instructions were issued to the station officer to take stringent action against the accused.
