Pentala Harikrishna is an Indian Grandmaster who was the third-ever player from the country to reach a 2700 Elo rating. He was also part of the gold-winning team at the 2024 Chess Olympiad.
Vincent Keymer is a German Grandmaster who joined Gukesh’s team for the World Championship. He is the youngest player from Germany to earn the GM title.
Jan-Krzysztof Duda is a Polish Grandmaster who is ranked first in his country. He acted as a playing partner for Gukesh during Candidates 2024 and assisted him in a couple of training camps.
Jan Klimkowski is a 17-year-old Polish International Master who helped Gajeswki and assisted him in the preparation for the Candidates 2024.
Paddy Upton was enlisted by Gukesh to strengthen his mental game for the showdown against Ding. He played a role in India’s victory at the 2011 Cricket World Cup and contributed to the Indian National Hockey Team’s bronze-medal run at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Gukesh said that former five-time World Champion Viswanathan Anand was not officially part of his team but he attended one day of the training camp and also helped him remotely for a few sessions.
