At its “Unfold the Classic” product launch event in Dubai on Thursday, Huawei revealed the Mate X6 foldable smartphone in international markets outside of China. The Huawei Mate X5, which was only available in China last year, has been replaced by the newest book-style foldable smartphone.
Both the primary and external displays on the Huawei Mate X6 measure 7.93 and 6.45 inches, respectively. It includes three outward-facing cameras and is rated IPX8 for water resistance. The phone’s 5,110mAh battery features 66W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging capabilities, according to the brand.
Features of the Huawei Mate X5
The EMUI 15 operating system powers the Huawei Mate X6’s worldwide version, which has a 7.93-inch (2,440×2,240 pixel) primary OLED screen with up to 240 Hz touch sampling rate and 1440 Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. Additionally, it has a 6.45-inch (1,080×2,440 pixel) quad-curved OLED external panel that supports high-frequency PWM dimming up to 1440 Hz and has a touch sampling rate of 300 Hz.
Adaptive refresh rates from 1Hz to 120Hz are available for both panels. The screens are protected by second-generation Kunlun glass. The Mate X6 is thought to be powered by the most recent Kirin 9100 CPU, while Huawei has not disclosed the exact name of the chipset. The phone has 512GB of storage and 12GB of RAM.
There are two storage capacities for the Chinese edition: 256GB and 512GB. Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS/AGPS, NFC, GLONASS, Beidou, NavIC, OTG, and a USB Type-C connector are among the Huawei Mate X6’s connectivity features. The Huawei Mate X6’s optics include a 48-megapixel telephoto macro camera, a 40-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 50-megapixel wide-angle camera with OIS.
1.5 million spectral channels are used by the Ultra Chroma technology in the rear camera unit. The phone has two 8-megapixel cameras that are placed on the inner and outside screens for taking selfies. The Huawei Mate X6 boasts a 5,110mAh battery that supports both 50W wireless fast charging and 66W cable fast charging. In addition, it weighs about 239g.
Price of the Huawei Mate X5
In the United Arab Emirates, the Huawei Mate X6 is priced at AED 7199 (about Rs. 1,66,000) and SAR 7299 (about Rs. 1,65,000) for the 12GB RAM + 512GB storage version. In a few other international areas, it is already pre-orderable via Huawei’s online stores and merchants. The Huawei Mate X6 is offered in Nebula Red, Nebula Grey, and Black in international countries.
The phone, which comes in Cosmic Red, Deep Sea Blue, Nebula White, Nebula Grey, and Obsidian Black colour options, was introduced in China last month. Its starting price is CNY 12,999, or around Rs. 1,50,000.
