Mangaluru: SDM Law College in Mangaluru is gearing up to celebrate its Golden Jubilee, Suvarna Patha, on Saturday and Sunday. The milestone marks 50 years of the institution's commitment to imparting quality legal education to all sections of society.
The two-day event will be celebrated in the presence of D Veerendra Heggade, president of SDME Society, governor of Andhra Pradesh, and SDM Law College alumnus Justice (rtd) Abdul Nazeer, along with Justice Murali Krishna, judge of the high court of Kerala, and other distinguished guests.
The celebrations will kick off on Saturday with an inauguration ceremony led by Justice Murali Krishna and presided over by C Basavaraju, vice-chancellor of KSLU, Hubballi. Uday Holla, senior counsel of the high court of Karnataka, will deliver the keynote address, while V Nagaraju, vice-chancellor of Tamil Nadu National Law University, will give the Founders Day lecture, said Taranath, principal of SDM Law College, addressing the reporters on Thursday.
He said that the second day of the event will feature the alumni meet and the 11th Silver Jubilee Endowment Lecture, which will be presided over by Justice (rtd) Abdul Nazeer. R Venkataramani, attorney general of India, will deliver the lecture.
SDM Law College was established in 1974 to provide quality legal education to all sections of society. Over the years, the institution built a strong reputation for itself and became a benchmark for legal education in southern India.
