MANGALURU: Young Indians Mangalore Chapter (Yi Mangalore) recently organised its annual day 2023-24, which highlighted its achievements and welcomed the new leadership. Its new leadership team is chapter chair chartered accountant Salome Lobo Pereira and chapter co-chair Durgadas Shetty.
M Athmika Amin, who is chapter chair for 2024, presented the major highlights of the year. She said that Yi Mangalore achieved significant milestones with over 100 activities conducted. It ended the year with 52 members, meeting a cent percent growth, and included over 10,000 college students and over 1,500 school students as part of the Yi network. Impactful programmes included the launch of project SOS (Save Our Seas), the chapter's flagship event Thatasth 2024, the YUVA Badminton Tournament in aid of accessibility with over 12 colleges participating, the YUVA Exchange Programme - Sang - HUM saw over 40 students from Podar College, Mumbai visiting Mangaluru, and the first Braille menu launch in a Mangaluru restaurant, among many other activities and initiatives.

Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner Mullai Muhilan MP, who was the chief guest, appreciated Yi Mangaluru's initiative in branding Mangaluru through its flagship event, Thatasth. He also requested Yi to actively participate in his initiative to enhance tourism in Mangaluru.
Nivedan Nempe, renowned for his invention of Areca Tea and Mystic Aromatics, shared his inspiring entrepreneurial journey, detailing the various hardships he faced and how his unwavering spirit helped him overcome challenges to achieve success. Now a multi-faceted entrepreneur with humble beginnings, his story was both motivating and insightful.
