Hyderabad: Thanks to its robust infrastructure and a rich pool of skilled human resources, Hyderabad has the potential to become a global destination for Global Capability Centres (GCCs) and the Artificial Intelligence (AI) sector, Telangana IT and industries minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu said here on Tuesday.
"Hyderabad already hosts global giants in the IT, healthcare, and life sciences GCC sectors. Our vision is to bring the essence of Silicon Valley to Hyderabad, and we are committed to creating a conducive environment for R&D, which is crucial for future growth," Sridhar Babu said during the signing of a bilateral trade partnership agreement between the US-India Business Council (USIBC) and Telangana.
Highlighting the govt's proactive measures to establish a world-class ecosystem for setting up GCCs, he said the proposed AI City across 200 acres will position Telangana ahead of other states in the country.
He said apart from tech, Hyderabad also houses a favourable ecosystem for industries like aerospace & defence, power, banking, digital payments, and industrial manufacturing. He urged USIBC to introduce Telangana to American businesses and facilitate further investments in the state in these areas as well.
US Consul General for Hyderabad Jennifer Larson, Telangana Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, USIBC Managing Director Rahul Sharma, and Senior Director Aditya Kaushik were among those who were present on the occasion.
