Caroling Sunday at Haydenville Congregational

HAYDENVILLE — Haydenville Congregational Church is welcoming the public to several community gatherings this Christmas season.

A Christmas Carol Sing-A-Long will take place this Sunday, Dec. 15, from 2 to 3 p.m. Jeff Olmsted will be at the piano and cookies and cider will be served.

On Friday, Dec 20, the church will host its monthly Potluck Dinner from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be more caroling. All are welcome. The Rev. Mark Seifried said, “Bring a dish to share or just come and enjoy our hospitality. There’s always plenty to eat.”

On Christmas Eve there will be an intergenerational candlelight service beginning at 4 p.m.

Northampton launches Share the Warmth Drive

NORTHAMPTON — Northampton’s Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is kicking off the Share the Warmth Drive, an initiative to provide critical supplies to the city’s most vulnerable neighbors, including individuals experiencing homelessness, families in need, and those facing financial hardships.

Donations are being accepted through Dec. 20, at the locations listed below. Any donations after Dec. 20 can be dropped off at the Division of Community Care at 1 Roundhouse Plaza.

■Sleeping bags and blankets.

■Tents and waterproof tarps.

■Personal hygiene products.

Donations can be dropped off at the Municipal Building, 212 Main St.; Forbes Library, 20 West St.; Fire/Rescue Department, 26 Carlon Drive; Police Station, 29 Center St.; Senior Center, 67 Conz St.; Division of Community Care, 1 Roundhouse Plaza, first floor; and Thornes Marketplace, 150 Main St.

All donations will be distributed through shelters, community centers, faith-based organizations, or direct outreach programs, ensuring they reach those who need them most.

9th Community Dinner celebration Saturday in Holyoke

HOLYOKE — OneHolyoke CDC will host its 9th Annual Holyoke Community Dinner on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Kelly School, 216 West St.

All Holyoke residents are invited to celebrate the season with a Winter Wonderland-themed free dinner that will also feature live performances, fun activities, and new this year, a silent disco. The organization plans to serve 500 meals to community residents.

OneHolyoke has been hosting its free Community Dinner for the past eight years that brings together hundreds of Holyoke residents. Residents also have the option to take meals to go.

The evening will feature live performances and fun activities, including arts and crafts, bingo, dancing, raffles, a silent disco, and a holiday tree contest with trees sponsored by local businesses and organizations.
