Nominations for the upcoming municipal elections in Ludhiana are underway. As of Wednesday, 26 nominations have been submitted for the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation. An additional nine nominations were filed for Sahnewal Municipal Council and Malaud Nagar Panchayat. The deadline for nominations is December 12, followed by scrutiny on December 13 and withdrawals on December 14.

LUDHIANA: A total of 34 candidates filed nominations on the third day of filing nominations for the municipal corporation Ludhiana elections. Of these, 25 nominations were submitted today. Additionally, nine candidates filed their papers for other elections in the district—three for MC Sahnewal and six for Malaud Nagar Panchayat. The elections are scheduled to be held on December 21.
Disclosing this on Wednesday, district election officer Jitendra Jorwal stated that a total of 26 nominations have been received so far for the municipal corporation Ludhiana. For MC Sahnewal and Malaud Nagar Panchayat elections, nine nominations were filed on Wednesday. He mentioned that December 12 is the last date for filing nominations.
Jorwal added that the nominations will be scrutinized on December 13, and the withdrawal of nominations will be allowed until December 14. He also confirmed that electronic voting machines (EVMs) will be used for the elections on December 21, and the votes will be counted at the polling stations immediately after the completion of voting.
