Jaipur: State assembly's budget session is expected to begin on Jan 27 or 28, with the budget presentation likely in first week of Feb. The session, spanning 40 business days, will address amendments to Rajasthan Municipality Act, 2009, and Rajasthan Panchayati Raj Act, 1994, which aim to facilitate ‘One State, One Election' simultaneous polls and finalise creation of new districts. The recent meeting of Speaker Devnani and Governor Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde discussed the assembly session dates. The formal announcement will be made in the first week of Jan, sources said.
Speaker Vasudev Devnani will conduct a preparatory meeting with key officials in early Jan. "Departments have to ensure that questions asked in the monsoon session are submitted before the start of the budget session. The agenda of the meeting also states that questions pending from the previous govt have to be answered within the same time frame," said a source.
The amendments will be brought before the budget to ensure that proceedings for local body polls start.
