Alwar: Following Supreme Court's directives, preparations are on to ferry people in electric vehicles (EVs) to the Pandupol Hanuman Temple in Sariska Tiger Reserve. On Tuesday, a representative from M/s Tri Electric Private Limited, a Tamil Nadu-based company, brought an air-conditioned electric battery-operated mini bus, with a seating capacity of 14, for trial to Sariska.
Deputy conservator of forests, Abhimanyu Saharan, conducted a physical inspection and operated the bus from Sariska's main gate to Pandupol along with local forest staff. He later expressed satisfaction with the trial. The bus took about three hours to journey from Sariska's main gate to Pandupol.
Once charged, this electric battery-operated vehicle can run for 60-70 kilometres. The firm will provide a detailed report for cost and fare determination, based on which the Sariska administration will decide if it can be operated for transport to Pandupol temple.
