Jamshedpur: Two PLFI operatives were allegedly lynched by villagers in separate jan adalats held at Roauli and Trikada villages in West Singhbhum district on Tuesday. Senior police officials, including the DIG (Kolhan range), SP, and SDPO Chakradharpur, did not respond to TOI's calls and messages regarding the deaths. District police sources indicate that disputes over illegal sand mining and transportation from Koyal river sparked the conflict between villagers and extremists. On December 7 and 8, too, locals reportedly killed two PLFI members, including an area commander, near the Koyal river under Gudri and Goilkera police station areas. SP Ashutosh Shekar said that probes were ongoing and body recovery would confirm these deaths. The DC and SP visited two remote Gudri block villages on Tuesday to assess development projects and welfare programmes.
