Hyderabad: The state govt has decided to include the newly designed Telangana Thalli image and the official state song, Jaya Jayahe Telangana, in school textbooks from the new academic year 2025-26.
Confirming that the process of printing the updated textbooks has begun, director of school education EV Narasimha Reddy said the decision is aimed at instilling a sense of pride and belonging among students while promoting the state's heritage.
"The state govt has approved the new Telangana Thalli image and the official song. These will be printed in all textbooks for the next academic year," he said.
In addition to this cultural update, the state will continue with its bilingual textbook policy to help students learn. "These textbooks will be available in Telugu-English, Urdu-English or Hindi-English combinations to ensure inclusivity for students from different linguistic backgrounds. The bilingual format is designed to ease the transition of non-English speaking students to English medium education and enable them to grasp subjects more effectively," added Reddy.
