Udupi: The State Olympics Sports Meet 2025, will be held in Udupi from Jan 16 to 23, bringing together athletes from various parts of Karnataka. Udupi deputy commissioner Vidya Kumari issued directions to make comprehensive preparations for the event, at a preparatory meeting held in Manipal.
The meet will feature over 13 events at the district stadium and Mahe sports complex, where more than 3,500 athletes are expected to participate. The DC directed officials to ensure adequate accommodation, food, and other facilities for athletes, officials, referees, and team members. The opening ceremony will be attended by chief minister Siddaramaiah, and other ministers and dignitaries, the DC said.
Lawn tennis, table tennis, badminton, and hockey will be held at the Mahe sports complex, while, athletics, basketball, kabaddi, taekwondo, volleyball, and other events will be held at the Udupi district stadium.
"All necessary preparations should be completed. No one should face any inconvenience during the meet. Sub-committee members and volunteers must ensure that all games are conducted smoothly. All departments must work in coordination to ensure a successful event," the DC said.
