Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2: The Rule continues its unstoppable run at the ticket window following a grand opening last week. Despite being the weekdays, the film has shown no sign of slowing down, with the latest box office updates looking quite impressive. Besides domestic collections, Pushpa 2 has also left a mark overseas and crossed the ₹ 1,000 crore mark. With this, Pushpa 2 has become the fastest film ever to surpass the magic figure.
Pushpa 2 has collected ₹645 crore in India alone, setting the stage for a bigger number at the Indian box office.
While Pushpa 2 opened with a mammoth collection of ₹ 164.25 crore on day 1, it was followed by ₹ 93.8 crore on day 2 (first Friday). The numbers significantly rose over the weekends with ₹119.24 crore and ₹141.05 crore on Saturday and Sunday. While the collections saw a slight dip on the first Monday, collecting ₹64.45 crore and another ₹52.4 on Tuesday.
The Allu Arjun-starrer has amassed ₹645.95 crore in India. Despite being a big south biggie, the film has made the highest collections through Hindi screenings, with ₹370.1 crore. The Telugu shows have earned ₹222.6 crore, while Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam have earned ₹37.10 crore, ₹4.45 crore, and ₹11.7 crore, respectively.
As per Sacnilk, Pushpa 2 is also expected to cross ₹1,000 crore globally; however, the confirmed numbers are yet to be published. Besides ruling the box office, the film has also broken a series of records, including the highest opening day, the highest all-time high for any film, and the highest opening weekend in India.
It has beaten the likes Jawan, Pathaan, Animal, Baahubali 2, KGF: Chapter 2, and even the most recent release, Stree 2.
Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2: The Rule is the sequel to the actor's 2021 film, taking forward the story to show Pushpa Raj's journey as the leader of the red sandalwood smuggling syndicate. While Rashmika Mandanna returns as Srivalli, Fahadh Faasil stands strong as the menacing officer Bhanwar Singh Shekawat.
While the film has given a closer look at Pushpa's struggles in business, it has also left a lot of unanswered questions, setting the stage for Pushpa 3: The Rampage.
