SMAT 2024 Highlights Quarterfinals: Delhi beats UP by 19 runs; MUM, BAR, MP other teams to reach semifinals

Badoni for the 19th over. SIX! Bhuvneshwar blasts this over long. FOUR! Wide and full, Bhuvneshwar digs it out through point. WICKET! Bhuvneshwar looks for another boundary but holes out at long off. 12 from the over.

Bhuvneshwar and Mohsin continue to delay the inevitable for UP. Six runs off the previous over from Prince Yadav. 

WICKET! Tyagi gets one! Vipraj looks to slog but gets a leading edge to Badoni. UP is seven down and staring at a defeat. Three runs and a wicket.

Suyash to bowl his final over. He pins Shivam Mavi who has opted for a review. Three reds on the ball tracker and UP is eight-down now. Mohsin Khan gets off the mark with a SIX over covers. FOUR, edges it past the slip fielder.

Harh Tyagi into the attack. Vipraj Nigam gets off the mark with a FOUR through cut. A no ball brings a free hit but Tyagi is able to keep it down to a single.

Prince Yadav to bowl the next. OUT! Rizvi picks back to back FOURs before top-edging a short-pitched delivery to short third.

Suyash back into the attack. FIFTY for Priyam with a single through fine leg. FOUR! Rizvi makes room and cuts through point. Nine runs from the over.

Simarjeet back. FOUR! Rizvi lets the ball come to him and guides it past the third man fielder. A wide to follow. A ramp shot for FOUR from Rizvi. OUT! Priyam is caught and bowled. He is gone on 54.

Badoni continues. Priyam collects another boundary through the off side. Ten runs from the over.

WICKET! Prince Yadav strikes with his first delivery. Rinku top edges and Anuj Rawat takes the catch. Sameer Rizvi is the new batter. Back-to-back boundaries for Priyam on the final two deliveries.

Ayush Badoni to bowl now. WICKET! Nitish Rana looks to slog sweep but holes out at deep mid wicket. Rinku Singh at No. 5. FOUR! Driven by Priyam wide of the deep cover fielder. Eight runs from the over.

Suyash again. FOUR! Rinku reverse sweeps over short third man. Nine runs from it.

Another tight over from Ishant as he gives away just two runs.

The leg-spin of Suyash Sharma for the first time. WICKET! Juyal is caught at point looking to clear the infield. Nitish Rana walks in. FOUR! Priyam makes room and clears the cover fielder.

Priyam slashes against Ishant but the chance is dropped by Mayank Yadav at deep third. Just two runs from the over.

Simarjeet to continue. SIX for Priyam, hits this full delivery down the ground. Another SIX! Width on offer and Priyam slashes it over backward point. FOUR! Priyam lofts this over covers.

Juyal steps out against Ishant and lofts down the ground for FOUR! Another boundary, this time it’s a leg bye for Karan Sharma. OUT! Chopped on! Karan looks to run it down to third man but plays it onto his stumps.

Priyam Garg in next. Simarjeet Singh to bowl from the other end. Five singles in the over.

Ishant Sharma to bowl the first over for Delhi.

A good last over by Shivam Mavi. He only concedes 10 runs that too a six off the last ball by Rawat. Delhi isn’t able to get to 200. Rawat remains unbeaten on 73 off 33 balls. 

A 23-ball fifty for Anuj Rawat: a spectacular knock. Badoni though has been caught behind after scoring 25. Himmat Singh is the new man in as Delhi looks set to go past 200-run mark. 

Two very big overs for Delhi, 38 runs off it. Anuj Rawat is on fire. Three sixes and three fours in those 12 balls. Delhi has crossed the 150-run mark. 

Things heating up between Delhi and UP. Nitish Rana and Ayush Badoni had a heated argument. Delhi adds 16 runs in the last overs including two fours off Mohsin Khan’s over. 

Nitish Rana and Mohsin Khan has brought UP back in the game with the wickets of both Arya and Dhull in back-to-back overs. Ayush Badoni and Anuj Rawat - two new batters at the crease. 

Delhi has increased its scoring rate in the last two overs. Yash Dhull is finding his rhythm as well. 22 runs in last 12 balls including two sixes and a four. 

Dhull hits a get-out-of-jail shot for a six off Vipraj Nigam. Arya meanwhile continues to score freely. Delhi crossed the fifty-run mark in the eighth over. 

We have our third semifinalists. Mumbai makes it over the line with four deliveries to spare. This is the highest run chase in the knockouts of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Rahane with his 85 runs set the pace before Dube and Shedge combined to get their side the win.

Mumbai will play Baroda in the first semifinal.

Arya is the aggressor among the two in the PowerPlay. UP has contained the early run flow however was unable to get a wicket. 

Yash Thakur starts the over with a wide. FOUR! Dube hits through fine leg on the first delivery. Another slog from Dube, miscues it and it is in the air but lands in the middle of two fielders, one run. 13 runs from the over.

Mumbai needs just six runs from the final over. shedge finishes off with a maximum over long on off Dipesh.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar again troubles Dhull, although the right-hander did find one boundary off his bat in the over. Shivam Mavi also concedes one four in his over. 

60 needed off 24. Mahale to Shedge, FOUR, gets a full toss and places it between mid wicket and long on. SIX! Another one through the same region. Dube dropped at deep square leg by Karun Nair. SIX! Another full toss dispatched over mid wicket. SIX to finish over long on. 24 runs from the over.

Dipesh back into the attack. SIX! Dube latches onto length on the first delivery. Another SIX down the ground, Mumbai senses a win here. 17 from the over.

Priyansh Arya hits a six and a four in Mohsin Khan’s over after Bhuvneshwar Kumar troubles Yash Dhull with his swing in his over. 

Rahane picks another FOUR, this time off Mahale. Follows that up with a couple. A dot ball to Dube, precious these dots will be at this time. Nine from the over. 

Mumbai needs 65 off 30 deliveries.

Rahane GONE! Yash Thakur strikes. He picks the fielder at deep midwicket. His knock ends on 84. Suryansh Shedge is the new batter. Five from the over.

Dipesh again for Vidarbha. Second WICKET! Shreyas Iyer picks the fielder at long on, trying to clear the fence. Seven runs from the over which includes a boundary for Rahane.

SIX! Dubey’s second over begins with a maximum by Rahane. FIFTY for Rahane off 27 deliveries. FOUR! Sky off the mark with a sweep to the square leg boundary. 

Left-arm seamer Dipesh to bowl now. WICKET! Shaw falls on 49 as he slices a fuller delivery to long off. Just one run off it, a much needed one for Vidarbha.

Shreyas Iyer is the new batter in.

Rekhade again. Shreyas gets off the mark with a ramp through the fine leg region for two runs. Seven runs from this over.

Yash Thakur fires the first two into the block hole, gives away just two singles. Follows it up with back-to-back dots. Shaw ramps the fifth over the keeper for a SIX. The last is pulled over fine leg for another SIX.

Left-arm orthodox Parth Rekhade into the attack. Rahane goes inside out over covers for FOUR. A leg bye on the next. Shaw slogs the fourth delivery over long on for another FOUR. A SIX to finish the over.

Both Rahane and Shaw are dealing in boundaries at the moment. Mumbai crossed the fifty-run mark in just 3.3 overs. Still two overs of PowerPlay left. 

A brilliant start for Mumbai. Shaw gets off the mark with a six and finds two more boundaries. Rahane hits three back-to-back fours in Nalkande’s over. 

Prithvi Shaw and Ajinkya Rahane open the innings for Mumbai in pursuit of 222-run target. 

Shubham Dubey quickfire 42 off 19 balls takes Vidarbha to 221/6 in the first innings. 23 runs off the last over of Mohit Avasthi. A tough total for Mumbai chase. 

Shubhang Shedge cleaned up Wankhade after he reached his fifty. Jitesh Sharma and Shubham Dubey are taking the score forward. The duo score 14 runs off Shardul Thakur’s over. 

Vidarbha loses Atharva Taide after he scored 66 off 41 balls. Ankolekar with the breakthrough, trapping him in front. Shubham Dubey has arrived at the crease. 

Wankhede and Taide continue to find boundaries The partnership is now 81 runs off 47 balls. Can they go past 200-run mark?

Apoorv Wankhade joins the run-making, hits a four and six off Suryansh Shedge. Eight runs off the Dube over that follows.

Shahbaz scored a fighting 55 off 36 balls but in an attempt to hit a maximum, he was caught at long-off. Atit Sheth takes the last two wickets. All over in 18 overs. Bengal 131 all out. 

100 up for Vidarbha in quick time, riding on a 32-ball 51 from Atharva Taide. Apoorv Wankhade with him in the middle looking to put up a formidable score on the board. 

Hardik Pandya picks two wickets in his final over. Both Sakshaim and Shami are gone but Shahbaz Ahmed is still there. However, Bengal has lost eight wickets with still 59 needed off 24 balls. 

Atharva Taide showing no signs of slowing down despite losing Parth Rekhade lbw at the other end. The opener is unbeaten on 47 off 27 balls. 

Shahbaz is keeping Bengal in the chase with some glorious shots including a textbook cover drive for four. 63 required off the last six overs. 

Atharva Ankolekar gets the breakthrough. Castles Karun Nair for 26 off 15 balls. Taide continues to milk boundaries and speeds to 35 off 20 balls. Fruitful PowerPlay for Vidarbha.

Abhimanyusingh Rajput removes Pramanik for three. Shahbaz though continues to find the boundaries when needed to keep Bengal in it. Bengal needs 74 from 48.

Karun and Taide continue the strong start to the PowerPlay, Shardul proves expensive in his second over as well, conceding three boundaries to Taide. 

Hardik Pandya removes Ritwik Chowdhury for 29 off 18 balls. Bengal needs 88 from 60 balls. Pradipta Pramanik joins Shahbaz. 

Shahbaz Ahmed gets two boundaries of Atit Sheth’s over to keep Bengal on track in the chase. The team needs 99 to win off 72 balls. 

Karun Nair and Atharva Taide open the innings for Vidarbha. After a tight first over from Atharva Ankolekar, the pair hits Shardul Thakur for 14 runs.

Atit Sheth removed Abishek Porel for 22. However, Ritwik Chaudhary and Shahbaz Ahmed have managed to get Bengal past fifty-run mark. However, Baroda has picked four wickets inside the PowerPlay.

Porel has begun well, got 12 runs off Pandya’s first over and then hit Lukman Meriwala for two more boundaries. A good start for Bengal.

Baroda has managed to score 56 runs in the final five overs. In the penultimate over, Shami conceded just three runs and picked up two wickets in two balls. A competitive total by Baroda here. 

Terrific last two overs. Shivalik Sharma smacked Shami for two back-to-back sixes. Then Bhanu Pania also hit consecutive sixes. However, Kanishk Seth had him caught & bowled. Vishnu Solanki began his innings with two fours. 36 runs in last two overs and a wicket. 

Harpreet Bhatia ensures there are no death over jitters. He scores an unbeaten 22 off 9 balls to take MP into the semifinal. A good anchor knock from Venkatesh Iyer too, finishing on an unbeaten 38 off 33 balls. 

Kanishk Seth gets the massive wicket of Hardik Pandya. He gets him out caught at backward point. The star all-rounder could only score 10 in his innings. Bengal bowlers have completely changed the game in the middle overs.

A productive over for MP against Panwar. Two sixes on the offside, one each from Bhatia and Venkatesh puts MP within touching distance of the win. 

Unadkat removes the dangerous Patidar for 28 off 18 balls. MP managing to prevent the run rate from going beyond control. The team needs 24 off 12 balls. 

Another wicket for Pradipta Pramanik, Krunal Pandya is caught. Shivalik Sharma has joined Hardik at crease. Bengal has controlled the scoring rate in the last four overs. Sakshaim has completed his quota of overs. 

Patidar and Venkatesh take 12 runs off the Panwar over after a quiet over from Dharmendrasinh Jadeja. MP needs 43 off 24 with two set batters at the crease. 

Two quick wickets for Baroda as Shashwat Rawat too falls off the first ball of Pradipta Pramanik. Krunal and Hardik Pandya are at the crease. Runs have dried up in the last two overs. 

Saurashtra loses Prerak to an ankle strain after he slips while trying to stop a ball hit in his direction. Patidar lofts Sammar Gajjar over the boundary for six leave the equation at 61 to win off 36 balls. 

Sakshaim Chaudhary gets the much-needed breakthrough for Bengal as Abhimanyusingh Rajput is caught at cover. He was dropped earlier in the over but not much damage for Bengal. Hardik Pandya has come into bat at number three. 

Senapati’s pull shot finds the fielder at the fence. Jani picks up the wicket. Skipper Rajat Patidar joins Venkatesh in the middle. MP needs 72 runs in 43 balls. 

Shahbaz Ahmed and Sakshaim Chaudhary have been introduced. Baroda has made sure to keep seeking boundaries. 

Senapati continues to find the boundary at regular intervals. Moves to 21 off 12 balls. Venkatesh taking his time at the other end, with only one boundary scored so far. 

End of the PowerPlay, Baroda has had a sedate start but hasn’t lost a wicket yet. There was an appeal turned out for LBW against Shashwat, and on review, he survived on umpire’s call. Fifty runs on board. 

A couple of tight overs from Mankad and Jani has brought the runrate down. MP needs 103 runs in 66 balls. 

An expensive over by Shami, 18 runs from the third over as Shashwat Rawat hit him for a six and a four. There was a brief delay as well after Abishek Porel was hit on the finger while keeping. 

Sayan followed it up with an economical over, just one boundary that too off a leg bye off the final ball. 

After a blazing 29-ball 42, Arpit Gaud holes out to deep midwicket in the first ball of Prerak Mankad’s spell. Venkatesh Iyer joins Senapati. 

Despite losing Harsh Gawli to a top-edge, Subhranshu Senapati and Arpit Gaud take MP past fifty within the PowerPlay. 

Mohammed Shami almost had Abhimanyusingh Rajput caught in the first over, but he was dropped at backward point. Two boundaries in first two overs.

Avesh returns. Jani punches a full one through the covers for a boundary. Six!! Short ball, Jani pulls it over midwicket for a huge six. Four!! Full on off, driven past a diving cover fielder for another four. 

Venkatesh with his third over. Fifty for Chirag Jani!! A streaky boundary as he looked to go after a short and wide one. WICKET!! Ruchit Ahir holes out to the fielder in the deep as he looks to pull one over the legside.

Shukla returns for his second over. Four!! Jani stands back and lofts one down the ground for a boundary. Eight from the over. 

Batham returns to the attack. WICKET!! Vishvaraj holes out at the deep in the first ball of the over.

Rahul Batham into the attack. Four!! Back of a length, attempted pull and runs away to the boundary through fine leg off an inside edge. Eight runs from the over. 

Kumar Kartikeya into the attack. A misfield at cover and Jani scampers across for a single. Bowls a leg spin ball that takes the inside edge of the batter, just past the stumps. 

Venkatesh Iyer into the attack. Six!! Jani pulls a back of a length ball to the legside, the deep square leg fielder gets two hands to it but can’t stop it from crossing the boundary.
