Chennai: Police arrested a college student and a tattoo artist in two separate cases of harassment.
In Arumbakkam, a 19-year-old college student, Lingeswaran, was arrested for assaulting and threatening a fellow student to pressurise her into marriage. The girl, also 19, said she was in a relationship with Lingeswaran but ended it three months ago due to his "troubling behaviour". Despite her efforts to avoid him, Lingeswaran stalked her, made phone calls, and confronted her at college where he abused her and issued death threats. The girl sought police help, leading to Lingeswaran's arrest on charges of assault, harassment, and issuing death threats.
In Anna Nagar, a 30-year-old tattoo artist, Sriram, was arrested under Pocso Act for stalking and harassing two schoolgirls. The complaint, filed by the girls' parent, accused Sriram of troubling the Class XII student and her younger sibling.
