Kanpur: A 21-year-old mason commits suicide by hanging himself from a neem tree within the premises of a junior school under the limits of Maharajpur police station on Monday night. The police initiated an investigation and arranged for the post-mortem examination.
The incident occurred in the Najafgarh village, where the deceased was found hanging with a sari at the school ground.Victim's father Suresh said that his family consists of three sons (Rinku, Anil, and Ankit) and two daughters (Pinky and Preeti). The eldest siblings, Rinku and Pinky, are married.
On Tuesday morning, Anil, the middle son, took this drastic step. Local residents spotted his body and, after identification, informed his family. Station officer Sanjay Pandey said that the body was sent for a post-mortem examination. The police are gathering evidence from the scene and awaiting both the family's statement and the post-mortem report before proceeding further.
