Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) contributions remained steady in November 2024 at ₹25,320 crore, nearly matching October’s ₹25,323 crore. However, the number of new SIPs dropped to 49,46,408 from 63,69,919 in October.
This slight decline in registrations indicates a shift in investor sentiment, possibly due to market fluctuations.
The total SIP AUM for November 2024 reached ₹13.54 lakh crore.
The number of SIP accounts reached an all-time high of 10.22 crore, up from 10.12 crore in September.
This reflects consistent interest in SIPs, a preferred choice for long-term retail investors.

November also saw 18 new open-ended schemes launched, raising ₹4,052 crore. Despite volatility in the equity markets, the mutual fund industry’s assets surged to a record ₹68.08 lakh crore, up from ₹67.25 lakh crore in October.
A significant portion of this growth came from equity-oriented schemes, including thematic funds, which saw inflows exceeding ₹7,000 crore.

However, Akhil Chaturvedi of Motilal Oswal AMC pointed out that November’s volatility led to a cautious approach.
