Chennai: Suspended VCK general secretary Aadhav Arjuna on Monday stood his ground, saying he will continue to raise his voice for VCK's demand for share in power. He reiterated that those who did not want the oppressed to be empowered have a ‘monarch mindset'.
Responding to his suspension, Aadhav Arjuna said on X, "I stand by the principle that only ideological leaders can be rulers and not those by birth. The people are the judges of democracy. It is the mentality of the monarchy to make sure that the depressed classes do not become empowered. It is also the duty of an honest politician to continue demanding share in power for dalits and other oppressed sections of society. Let us identify the pseudo-ideologues who create corruption by talking about ideology." Even a thousand hands cannot block the sun (aadhav in Tamil means sun), said Arjuna signing off his cryptic X post as Founder-Voice of Commons.
Arjuna said he embraced the ideas of revolutionary leaders such as B R Ambedkar, Periyar E V Ramasamy and C N Annadurai while starting his political journey. "My journey will always continue on the path of those principles. I will continue to voice against atrocities in society such as religious majoritarianism, caste domination, female subjugation, threats against minorities, and dominant mentality against the common people."
Aadhav said he was involved in building the party. "Realising the responsibility entrusted with me, I took up the task of developing the party to the next level with a firm commitment to policy. I also built the party's campaign strategy along the lines of party principles. I am confident that the comrades at the grassroots level are well aware of what I have done in the party. I will always be the voice of those volunteers," Aadhav Arjuna said.
Quoting the song of former CM M G Ramachandran, Aadhav said his work and popularity cannot be blocked by such actions. He would leave the action of the party leadership to destiny, he said.
