Canacona: The deputy town planner’s office at Canacona has filed two more police complaints against illegal landfilling of paddy fields and illegal hill cutting activities in the taluka.
In the first complaint, Kashish Gauns Dessai of deputy town planner, Canacona, stated that before Aug 13, a private company carried out illegal landfilling in an area earmarked as paddy fields/khazans at Chaudi.
In the second complaint, Sarino Cletus Fernandes, also attached to the deputy town planner’s office, stated that prior to June 11, one person carried out illegal hill-cutting at Poinguinim.
Canacona police registered offences under Section 17-A and 17-B of the Town and Country Planning Act in both cases.
Investigation in both cases is on.
