Mumbai: Water Supply Disruption in Parts of Bandra Due to Pipeline Leak

Mumbai, 10th December 2024: On Tuesday, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) announced that some parts of Bandra, Mumbai, would face a disruption in water supply due to a leak in the supply pipeline. According to the BMC Public Relations Officer, a leak was detected in a 600 mm diameter water pipeline in Bandra at 2 am, which impacted the regular water distribution.

The BMC’s Ward HW office shared an update on social media, stating, “A major pipe burst occurred at SV Road near Lucky Junction. Emergency repair teams are en route. Water supply to the H-West ward has been temporarily halted to assess the damage and carry out repairs. More updates will follow.”

The BMC further explained that one of the two main water channels supplying water to the Pali Reservoir at Lucky Junction, located on Swami Vivekananda Marg in Bandra West, began leaking at around 2 am. The team has launched an urgent effort to contain the leak.

“BMC teams are working to fix the leak, and this has caused water supply interruptions in the H-West ward. Some areas of Bandra will be without water today, while others will experience low water pressure until the repairs are completed,” the BMC added.

The civic body has also requested residents in the H-West ward to minimize water usage for the day.
