Noida: A man was arrested on Monday for allegedly stabbing another person to death for Rs 1 lakh.
The accused, Ishwar Chand alias Rinku, was injured in a gunfight with police during his arrest, while his accomplice remains absconding, police said.
The victim, Sukhram, a native of Kannauj residing in Kulesra village, was killed near Asclepius Hospital on Dadri Road on Dec 8.
"During interrogation, Rinku revealed that Rajesh suspected his wife of having an affair with Sukhram and offered Rs 1 lakh to have him killed," said DCP (Central Noida) Shakti Mohan Avasthy.
Avasthy added that Rinku is from Firozabad and resides in Haldauni, carried out the crime with Rajesh alias Mukesh, a resident of Bulandshahr.
A case was registered at the Ecotech 3 police station under BNS Section 103(1) (murder), Avasthy said.
