Mohammed Siraj was penalised 20 per cent of his match fees while Travis Head was reprimanded too by the ICC, following their angry face-off during the second Test here at the Adelaide Oval.

After Siraj castled Head during Australia’s first innings, the Indian speedster had issued a send-off and there was an exchange of words with the centurion.

Siraj was found guilty of breaching article 2.5 of the ICC code of conduct while Head was adjudged to have violated article 2.13.

The cited rule relates to “using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon dismissal. Head was charged under the section that pertains to ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel.

The two players received one demerit point each in their disciplinary records. According to the ICC note, both admitted to their respective offences and accepted the sanctions proposed by match referee Ranjan Madugalle.
