Self-goal
Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has recently scored a self-goal with one of its social media post. The innocuous post was about public facilities provided by BMC. "The Public Toilets have many facilities for the Public, Team BMC ensures to keep it neat & clean. Use Toilets and share your feedback & comments," the BMC stated. But moments after it went public, the BMC received a barrage of criticisms. "The facilities are fine, but first you need to ensure that the toilets are functional," wrote one user. Another posted a photograph of a dysfunctional toilet with the message, "Absolutely neat and clean."
Mistaken identity
Recently, President Droupadi Murmu was in Bhubaneswar to unveil the statue of Pandit Raghunath Murmu. During the ceremony, a few onlookers were mistaken about the identity of Raghunath Murmu. Some even thought him to be the president's father, little knowing that the statue belonged to the inventor of Ol Chiki script.
The right note
In a rare display of unity, MLAs dropped the usual acrimony for some musical bonding session during their trip to Puri to watch the Navy Day celebrations. Actor-turned-politician Siddhant Mohapatra set the mood by singing one of his old chartbusters, instantly transforming the gathering into an impromptu concert. MLAs across party lines joined in, proving that while they might argue over bills, they can still hit the same note. The camaraderie was so infectious that someone even suggested of forming an assembly band.
