New Delhi: A 46-year-old man was arrested by Delhi Police for allegedly attempting to extort Rs 50 lakh from Union minister of state Sanjay Seth through threatening text messages.
Mujauddin Ansari was apprehended Sunday in Jharkhand. Police say the suspect devised the extortion scheme in an attempt to frame his daughter's friend. According to police, the messages were received around 4pm on Friday, demanding Rs 50 lakh and threatening violence if the amount wasn't paid. Minister Seth reported the incident to New Delhi District Police, leading to a case being registered.tnn
