Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, shattered all previous records at the Hindi box office on Sunday. Early projections indicate that the Sukumar-directed film made between Rs 79.00 and Rs 81.00 crore on its fourth day, making it the highest-grossing day in Hindi cinema history. Since the mass belts have simply gone crazy with the occupancy today, there is a chance that the amount may increase more on Sunday, possibly reaching the Rs 83 crore milestone. We won’t know the precise figures until Monday at noon. With this, Pushpa 2: The Rule’s four-day extended opening weekend earnings total Rs 265 crore.
Over the past four days, all records have broken, with Pushpa 2 becoming the first feature film to earn at least Rs 50 crore in four days in a row in addition to having the largest opening weekend in Hindi history.
The movie has been the first to reach the Rs 80 crore mark in a single day. Nevertheless, preliminary results suggest that this Allu Arjun flick has achieved a historic feat. The weekend trend also suggests that the movie will surpass Street 2’s lifetime earnings of Rs 585 crore to become the most successful Hindi film ever.
Day-wise breakdown
Thursday: Rs 65 crore
