Patna: A 50-year-old man and a 20-year-old youth were found dead at separate places in Patna district on Sunday morning. The man was found lying unconscious near Ranipaijawa Road under mysterious circumstances under the Bypass police station area, while the youth was found dead with a bullet injury mark on his head and jaw near the railway track at Veer village under Dhanarua police station area of Patna.
"As per the locals, the man was found lying unconscious and bleeding from the neck. However, when the police team reached the spot, he had died by then. There was no injury mark on the body. The deceased has not been identified yet. The police are investigating the case and examining the CCTV footage of the nearby areas to get some clues about his death," said Rajesh Kumar Jha, SHO of Bypass police station.
He further said, "The other police stations have also been alerted about the recovery of a unidentified body. We are checking if any missing complaint has been registered in any of the police stations in Patna."
In the case of youth's death in Masaurhi, a team of senior police officials, along with forensic experts, reached the spot after being informed and carried out an investigation. The body of the deceased was taken into custody by the police and sent to PMCH for a postmortem.
Masaurhi's sub-divisional police officer II, Kanhaiya Singh, who inspected the spot, said it appears that the youth was killed somewhere else and later his body was dumped in the field at night. "Hands and legs of the victim were tied and he was shot in the head. The police questioned locals about the youth, but they could not identify the youth. No identification card or cellphone has been recovered from his possession," he said.
The police received the information about the body around 6.30am when the villagers came out for defecation and saw the body of a young man lying in a field.
