Lucknow: Divisional commissioner Roshan Jacob carried out an inspection of various development and beautification works in the heritage zone in Hussainabad on Saturday and directed officials to restrict heavy transport operations and encourage tourists to walk or use e-vehicles in the zone.
She also inspected various intersections like Koneshwar Mahadev Crossing, Chowk, and Charak Crossing to assess traffic conditions and identify areas for improvement.
She said that there should be a complete ban on movement of heavy vehicles between the Chhota Imambara and Bada Imambara to enhance pedestrian accessibility and reduce congestion. She said that tourists should be encouraged to walk or use golf carts to travel between Chhota Imambara and Teele Wali Masjid.
She directed officials to improve parking facilities and ensure proper parking arrangements for golf carts, e-rickshaws, and four-wheelers in designated areas. She said that encroachment and illegal parking from roads and intersections should be removed. Jacob ordered the development of an action plan to ease traffic congestion at Chowk, Charak and KGMU crossings. TNN
