Jaipur: Health department will launch Ayushman model community health centres (CHCs) on Dec 15 to coincide with CM Bhajan Lal Sharma's birthday. One CHC will be converted to a model CHC in each state assembly constituency. The model CHC will be equipped with better diagnostic and treatment facilities. Locations of model CHCs were identified based on recommendations received from local legislators.
According to health department officials, the CM will launch the model CHCs on his birthday.
"The model CHC will have more facilities compared to other CHCs. Patients will get 1,323 types of medicines, compared to 790 medicines in ordinary CHCs. Specialists in general medicine, surgery, gynaecology, paediatrics, dental, and AYUSH will be available. Patients will get 56 types of diagnostic test facilities," said Dr Ravi Prakash Mathur, director (public health), on Sunday.
The health department sought suggestions from MLAs to earmark the CHC that should be converted into model CHC, based on footfall of patients.
Model CHCs will conduct screening of patients for non-communicable diseases, treatment, and prevention. Yoga consultation will be provided for a better lifestyle. An adolescent-friendly health clinic will also be established at model CHCs with help of NGOs.
Solar panels and CCTVs will be installed in model CHCs. An ambulance 108/104 will be deployed and telemedicine facilities will be available. For those in need of psychological and psychiatric treatment, model CHCs will provide tele-manas counselling for mental health. For elderly patients, geriatric health facilities will be made available. A mortuary will also be constructed at all model CHCs and there will be round-the-clock emergency facilities, officials said. .
