Chatra: The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), buoyed by its recent victory in the assembly elections, is launching an ambitious organisational expansion drive starting from Chatra on December 14. The party maintained its perfect electoral record by winning its sole allocated seat in the state under the NDA.
Chatra MLA Janardan Paswan confirmed that prominent social worker Prem Kumar will join the party along with supporters in the presence of LJP supremo and Union minister Chirag Paswan. The Chatra seat, traditionally a BJP stronghold, saw Paswan emerge victorious after he switched to LJP when the seat was allocated to the party under the coalition arrangement.
Political analysts note that despite lacking a strong organisational presence in Chatra, Paswan secured victory against Rashmi Prakash, daughter-in-law of former labour minister Satyanand Bhokta, primarily due to alliance support. This success has motivated the party to establish a stronger foothold in Jharkhand.
The party has intensified its expansion efforts by appointing Gauri Yadav, a former RJD member who switched allegiance during elections, as the district president. State president Birendra Pradhan confirmed that the party is actively working to build a robust organisational structure in the region. Birendra Pradhan said that Chirag Paswan's visit fulfills a campaign promise made during an election rally in Chatra.
