Ludhiana: Ludhiana rural police booked unidentified miscreants for stealing Rs 3 lakh cash, Canadian dollars and gold jewellery from a house after knocking a woman unconscious by making her smell something. The complainant, Manpreet Kaur of Gujjarwal, a homemaker, told the police that her husband, brother-in-law and husband’s cousin lived together, while their children lived abroad. She said that she was alone at home at around 11.30am on Thursday when she found two masked men standing at the back door of the house. When she raised an alarm, one of the men caught her and the other slapped her. She said that the men also beat up their pet dog with an iron rod. She said that they forced her to sniff something, after which she fainted.
When she regained consciousness, she saw the two men standing next to her. She said that they removed her gold bracelet and left after threatening her.
