Women’s grandmaster and India chess veteran Tania Sachdev believes that D Gukesh needn’t tinker with his gameplay and continue pushing forward with what he has been doing in a bid to break the deadlock against Ding Liren of China at the World Chess Championship.
“For Gukesh he has to continue doing exactly what he is doing, I hope he gets his chances we are all really happy that we have got a match that is such a big fight between two absolutely brilliant players and somewhere as a chess player myself when it comes to a world championship you don’t want a one-sided match, you want it to be an ultimate battle between two players and that is what we are getting,” Tania told PTI Videos in an exclusive interview.
However Tania feels that Liren with his experience, holds the edge over the Indian if the game goes to a play-off.
“If it goes into a tie-break, a playoff, Ding with his experience in speed chess, perhaps the odds might start favouring him so I am hoping Gukesh finds some chances and capitalises on them in the classical portion of the match,” she signed off.
