Mysuru: The University of Mysore VC NK Loknath on Saturday advised students to take part in cultural, literary, and extracurricular activities, apart from giving importance to academic promotion.
He was speaking after inaugurating the University of Mysore inter-collegiate cultural and literary meet 2024-25, organised by the Students Welfare Directorate at Manasagangotri, the PG campus.
He said that the participation of students in such inter-college cultural and literary events not only provides a platform for college students to exhibit their talent but also provides an opportunity to represent state, national, and international college festivals.
The participation of students in dance and music festivals not only entertains them but also provides an opportunity to shape their future journey. The state, which is gifted with talented musicians and litterateurs, brought laurels to the country with their performances.
Registrar VR Shylaja highlighted the alumni of the University of Mysore shining in various fields, including arts, literature, and music, both at the national and international levels.
Earlier, Kannada TV artists Sushmitha and Jaggappa entertained the students and audience with their comedy performances during the inaugural event.
University of Mysore Students Welfare director Prof Gurusiddaiah C was present.
