Chennai: Two transgender women snatched a four sovereign gold chain worth 1.2 lakh from a software engineer at Anna Nagar on Thursday. A hunt is on for the duo.
Police said Ronak, a 29-year-old who is employed at a leading software company, was returning home from work whe he stopped to answer a call and the two approached him.
One of them threatened him with a knife and snatched his gold chain. Before he could cry for help, they fled the scene. Police registered a case.
At Taramani, a 17-year-old transgender girl attacked a guest worker, Babu Ram, 19, after demanding money from him.
Babu Ram offered her 5. The girl demanded more. When Babu Ram told her to come back later, she attacked him with an iron rod.
Based on his complaint, police nabbed the girl, a resident of Kannagi Nagar, and sent her to a correctional facility for girls at Kellys.
