Chennai: Tamil Nadu governor R N Ravi said some think that social justice is a franchise for their organisations, but it is a fundamental principle of the Constitution. "Social justice can be attained only through social and individual means," he said.
Speaking at the 69th Memorial Day event of B R Ambedkar at Raj Bhavan in Chennai on Friday, the governor said Ambedkar was an intellectual with hardly any rivals.
He asked why political parties could not ask their cadre to ensure that there is no discrimination in their regions.
Political parties will only make noise; it is for society and individuals to ensure equality and social justice, the governor said. tnn
