Ranchi: A special PMLA court has dismissed the discharge applications filed by two defendants in a case involving tender-commission fraud and money laundering within the rural development department.
The court is scheduled to frame charges against the accused on Saturday. The list of defendants includes former minister Alamgir Alam and former chief engineer of rural development, Veerendra Ram.
On Thursday, the court rejected the discharge petitions submitted by Ram Prakash Bhatia and Neeraj Mittal, who are accused of laundering approximately Rs 4.5 crore. It is noteworthy that all 11 discharge petitions filed by the accused in this case have been rejected. Among the total 13 accused, one has passed away, while another has not submitted any petition.
