Mysuru: The golden howdah at the Mysuru Palace has been barred from public view as the authorities took up minor repair on Thursday. As a result, tourists visiting the palace are unable to see the howdah, which is used during the Dasara procession. This howdah, under the possession of the Mysuru royal family, is one of the major attractions for palace visitors. Officials of the Mysuru Palace Board confirmed that the howdah has not been available for public view since Thursday. However, they stated that they are not aware of when it will be available for public viewing. It can be recalled that the golden howdah is a major attraction during the Dasara procession. After Dasara, it is kept at the palace for public viewing. An email sent to the Mysuru royal family remained unanswered until late evening.
