Panaji: Santa Cruz sarpanch Jennifer de Oliveira has been accused of engaging in “revengeful and vindictive politics” by allegedly obstructing development works proposed by opposition ward members. Panch Inacio Domnic Pereira alleged that the sarpanch refused to sign development files for opposition wards despite resolutions for the proposed projects being adopted in meetings chaired and proposed by her.
“This was described as a grave injustice to the ward members and the villagers,” he said. Pereira reported his grievances in writing to panchayats minister Mauvin Godinho, the block development officer, and the director of panchayats. Based on his complaints, a memorandum was issued by the BDO to the panchayat secretary with a direction to take necessary action.
“The Congress-backed panel and the sarpanch are unfit to hold office and should step down for failing to treat all Santa Cruz villagers equally,” Pereira added.
