Navi Mumbai, 6th December 2024: A parking attendant at Naha Sheva railway station suffered a severe assault over a ₹10 parking fee, leaving his eardrum damaged. The victim, 33-year-old Nakul Yashwant Patil, reportedly requested the fee for a bike parked by one of the accused, which triggered the attack.
The assault caused significant damage, resulting in hearing loss in Patil’s left ear. On December 4th, Uran Police registered a case under sections 189(2), 191(2), 190, 117(2), 115(2), 352, and 352(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The primary accused, identified as Preet Banda, allegedly became enraged when asked to pay the parking fee, arguing that local villagers should be exempt. “The bike was parked at the station premises. When the accused came to retrieve it, I asked him to pay the parking charge, which he claimed doesn’t apply to locals,” Patil recounted.
Later, Patil and his friend, 27-year-old Rushikesh Kundalik Patil, were intercepted by associates of the main accused. The group, including Dinesh Vasant Banda, Tulsiram Waman Banda, Dipesh Mahadev Banda, and Parth Mahesh Patil, objected to the parking charges and began physically attacking the duo.
“The victim was slapped so hard it caused damage to his eardrum. His friend, who attempted to mediate, also sustained injuries. A case has been filed against all individuals involved,” confirmed the investigating officer.
